Oriental Medicine uses four  modalities to access the healing capacity that the patient brings with them to the therapeutic sessions.

Foods and Herbs ( Some Herbs are used in food preparation) are methods of access that use the digestive and eliminative (nourishment and detoxification) adaptive systems of the body.

Massage and Bodywork use the method of structured touch to guide the person into release of holding patterns that restrict the body’s natural flow and movement.

Acupuncture is unique in treatment therapies. The use of specific biologically active acupuncture points enables the acupuncturist to access the interrelationship between mind/brain and body to reset and create improved adaptation responses of all the organ systems. This therapy accesses the body’s regulatory  and homeostatic systems directly.

The movement therapies of Tai Chi Chuan , QI Gong and Taoist Yoga  integrate mind- body and breath  This enables us to meet and greet the world. Tai Chi emphasizes meditation both in movement and in stillness.  It is sometimes called stillness in motion. QI Gong especially the medical QI Gong branch is a powerful therapy which can be  either self directed or in conjunction with a mentor.
